Cozy Canyon is Grand!!!

Happy 2008 everyone! I finally get to cross something BIG off my “bucket list” and that was finally seeing the Grand Canyon! Ok, so it’s hardly cozy, more like awe-inspiring and what a fantastic adventure we had!

Marc’s sister Corinne and mother Marianne flew in from Zurich, Switzerland stayed several days in Santa Monica where we had the opportunity to play with them a bit and then on New Year’s eve morning off we headed to Vegas! After picking up our car at the Luxor we began our drive through the wild wild west – our destination the Brunswick Hotel in Kingman right on legendary Route 66!!!!

Our super cozy cowboy hotel!

We spent a wonderful and unusual New Year’s eve at the Brunswick – a bar full of funky locals and a suprisingly yummy restaurant with pretty sophisticated food! After dinner we went up to our “suite” and played an unusual “game” Corinne had brought from Switzlerland which involved melting an object, casting it’s shadow upon the wall and identifying it to tell your future! We were well aided in this task by a bottle of Dom Perignon!
A fantastic and unusual New Year’s Eve!

Our beautiful dinner!

I finally got my Lobster! Super Yum!!!

What a way to celebrate 2008 than with a breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon and breath taking away experience on the Skywalk!

Then on to Vegas!

Our dinner at Fusia in the Luxor – lemondrops and Sake? Why not!!!

Dim Sum anyone? Fusia at the Luxor was really great!

Too many adventures to recount but back in L.A. meant beautiful rooms at the Bonaventure Hotel and yes another Lemon Drop in their fantastic revolving bar on the top floor! What a view!
Happy New Year everyone! Cheers!
