Cozy Kid Video at Ralph Lauren

Wow, Ralph Lauren really raises the bar on their Fall website!( Can’t wait to see how JCrew will counter!)

They say the future of online advertising is all about video and here it is! And how dang cute! Although a little long, they certainly show a lot of merchandise all layered up in that Ralph Lauren way along with a really charming story. Of course getting Harry Connick. Jr. was a nice touch too! Personally I think they could have done a slightly better job at casting but that’s just my opinion.

I’ll be keeping my eye on their website to see what else they come up with – after all Ralph almost invented Cozy (in a most elegant way!).

I agree to an extent that the casting is a bit weird, but then again, there’s something to be said about hiring kids that don’t take away from the clothes. Sometimes when the kids are too too gorgeous I find myself staring at the kids, and not the clothes. But I LOVE all of the names. Makes me want to adopt again just so I can name a kid Willow, Jasper or Oliver! Oh…and it’s too long. Parents don’t have that kind of time!

I totally agree about 1. the names – it’s almost like they make them up but I know from experience that they don’t!!!! and 2. yes, it is too long. As far as the models go, Ralph is usually so consistent with the type of kids they hire, I was just surprised for something as major as this that they would go off course a bit….
