Cozy Rose: Drink it and still be a badass!

Wow, what a relief to know that I can drink Rose and still be considered a bad ass.

I thought I was going to need Reputation Management since this is one of my favorite warm weather wines but it seems like its all going to be ok!

Thanks Miriam and Michael for sending me this bumper sticker email from your 1 year wedding anniversary trip to NYC. Little did you know what a coincidence it would be!

You see this badass Rose turned up at a dinner a couple of weeks ago at the house of Miss Elizabeth B. From the Washington winery of Charles and Charles in the Columbia Valley this was a most delicious wine! Not too sweet, nice and dry. Made from 100% Syrah grapes. Great choice Lizzy and no more searching, we’ve found our Summer Rose!

Of course I couldn’t resist doing a little research and found out this wine is a collaboration of two cool wineries out of Washington and since we are moving to Seattle at the end of the month, this was especially exciting! The first is the Sammy Hagar lookalike of the Walla Walla region named Charles Smith of Charles Smith Wines and the second is a Frenchman named Charles Bieler of Three Thieves Winery.
Check out their websites, there is nothing boring about these two, no wonder they decided to do a collaboration!

So this 2009 Rose will be our pick for Summer 2010 and soon we’ll be exploring lots of other wines from the Walla Walla region. Good bye Santa Barbara, we’ve had a great love affair with your but I’m afraid its time to move on!
