Orcas Island is Cozy!

by Leslie Patson | 18th September 2009

Who knew there were so many islands to explore in thePacific Northwest? We were so lucky to be able to head out to Orcas Island, one of the many beautiful San Juan Islands that was about a 45 minute drive and then a 45 min ferry ride to. Loved the ferry ride!
Here’s how we boarded the boat with our car:

It costs us a total round trip of $69 including car and 3 people.

The boys at the front of the ferry

After we landed we started driving around the island when I saw this and thought: I could be very happy living here!!!!!

Charming!!!

In the little town, an homage to Chloe!

How cute is this store!!!!

Down the street at the Farmer’s Market!

Love this sign!

Was soooo hard not to buy anything!

We stopped at an ice cream truck (Marc and I shared the most delicious huckleberry ice cream with fresh blueberries in it!!!) and the guys told us of a great hike to take. He was not mistaken! I love moss covered trees and they certainly were tons of them!

Finally we found the water, it was crystal clear and just a little chilly!

What a view! I want and need more of this in my life, especially if I want to be COZY!!!!

Can’t forget our Bambi sightings! Look at this cute little baby!

and some local houseguests!

Finally it was time to say goodbye to Orcas Island but something tells me we will be back!

These pictures are amazing…Chez Chloe, the store w the clothesline, the farmer’s markets and Bambi! It’s definitely now high on our list of places to visit. Jen & Marcus have a family house on Lopez Island which is also part of the San Juans….never seen pics but probably looks like this.
