They’re popping up everywhere! Crocuses and other classic spring flowers that is! Lots of daffodils, crocuses and hints of tulips to come are springing out of the ground. I wonder if the Northwest has an earlier spring bloom than the East coast? I have yet to see my favorite Lily of the Valley anywhere….

Somehow I notice these early blooms much more here than I did when I lived in Los Angeles. Maybe it is because I walk more? These pictures were taken at a pretty little public garden near my office in Belltown.
Lone Ranger below!

I planted some tulip bulbs a real estate broker left on my front door as a promotion of some sorts. I put them in a little late but am hopeful they grow. Now that I am more settled in my new home I will be more proactive with gardening this year. Can’t wait! Spring remains the one season we have yet to experience here in Seattle as we arrived last July. At the rate things grow around here I am really looking forward to this and I can’t wait to get gardening! What’s going to grow in your garden this year? Now is definitely the time to start thinking about it!

Yup, it’s the weekend and I couldn’t be happier! Looks like it’s going to be a drizzly weekend but that won’t keep us indoors. Well, maybe a little bit but I think Nero above has a good idea to just relax and be cozy! (I think Nero has a touch of Art Director in him, he really knew how to “place” himself in the perfect background, A+ Nero!)
Last night we had dinner up the street at Emmer & Rye in Queen Anne (more about that later) and tonite it might be Tom Douglas’s Serious Pie in South Lake Union, home of the Amazon “campus” and thus, Marc’s new stomping ground. But for now it’s errands galore, always a part of Saturday. More soon and wishing everyone a cozy weekend!

After the Galliano debacle, Marc Jacobs decided to lighten things up a little bit with the French Maid theme at his Louis Vuitton show this week. Kate Moss made a guest appearance on the runway as did Naomi, Stella Tennant and Amber Valletta.
I’m guessing this mademoiselle would like a bottle of Veuve sent to her room tout suite!

Marc Jacobs looking tres elegant!

Because it’s Monday and we all need a little laugh to start the week off right!
Also, NEVER underestimate animals of any kind. This picture says it all.
And if you really believe that, like I do, then every day click on the ANIMAL RESCUE SITE to give free food to needy animals (and lots of other good stuff too for Rainforests, Childrens Health, Veterans, Breast Cancer etc etc.). This is easy, do it daily – PLEASE!!!!!!

With the recent firing of John Galliano for his anti semetic remarks how would Dior handle the show in Paris which happened this past Friday? With elegance of course. The show was opened by Dior CEO Sidney Toledano making opening remarks and instead of the usual designer appearance at the end of the show they brought out the white coated atelier, all the tailors, hand beaders and seamstresses – wow, these are the craftsmen who make it all happen and I would think a chance of a lifetime to see them all on stage like that.

I don’t know what’s going to happen with Galliano (rehab, prison?) or his namesake line but I guess we’ll stay tuned as this drama unravels.

New York fashion week just ended and now the fashionistas are all in Paris. I just love Grace Coddington, especially since seeing the The September Issue, and here she is doing what she does best! Anna who?
Such a bummer about John Galliano – so glad I didn’t wear Dior to the Academy Awards, talk about bad timing!
Maybe Galliano and Charlie Sheen should be in rehab together? and by rehab I mean jail! And there’s nothing cozy about that!

Spring can be so unpredictable! Yes, it snowed in Seattle this past Wednesday and Thursday but it looked nothing like the picture above. I was just being dramatic! The snow flurries were a bit intense at times and do tend to turn the city upside down but never really amounted to much in the city. Go figure yesterday was crystal clear blue sky with just traces of the leftover snow. The same goes for today I am happy to report! Will be so nice for a long walk.
What’s in store for the weekend? Well, we have a new addition to our household…

This is Marc’s new baby so that means I will basically be doing my own thing while he plays with his new well deserved toy – hot off the press the new MacBook Pro (its pretty cool!). I have plenty of stuff to keep myself busy, that unfortunately is never a problem!
Then of course on Sunday we have the Academy Awards!

I loved The Fighter and also The King’s Speech. I better check to see if I have popcorn ready to go!
Lots of other cozy things lined up but I’ll save that for Monday or the next time I get a few minutes to myself.
Have a great weekend everyone!
