Room with a View

After living in Southern California for so many years the one thing I forgot about the 4 seasons is how quickly they can change. Especially my favorite season Autumn. One day the branches are filled with yellow and red leaves and the next day those same branches are bare, the sky is silvery and there is frost on the ground.
In fact, in Seattle we had much more than frost. We’re talking about 6 inches of snow! Above is the view from our attic window which was lovely. The snow was absolutely magical but what wasn’t so magical was how to figure out how I would get to work using the new snow bus routes. I ended up doing quite a bit of walking/waiting in freezing temperatures. I am now the owner of some bitchin’ warm gloves and a cool Seattle-style hat that may just bring back grunge.
Just kiddiing.

As we live on to of Queen Anne hill we soon discovered that the main road to come up to the town closes when the roads become bad. I first found this out when my bus dropped a bunch of us off at the bottom at around 6:45pm in the COLD leaving no choice but to walk up the hill. I literally saw an SUV slide down the hill and crash into 2 parked cars. It was quite surreal!
You can even go onto YouTube and see an Audi sliding down doing 360′s and also crashing into some parked cars. That was one crazy night…
On Thanksgiving day the temps go into the 40′s and all the snow melted away. At least for now!
Next on my list, some sort of boots that are warm and have super traction. I gotta figure this out, that is how to stay cozy when the weather outside is frightful…!
