Summer Cozy: Croquet and Picnics!

For me, sometimes everyday in Los Angeles feels like summer. So the question is, how do you actually make it feel like Summer? Growing up as a child it was croquet games and picnics in my Grandmothers back yard along the French Creek in Phoenixville, Pa.
My mom really carried on that tradition (and was a kick ass croquet player to boot!) and in her memory we all still love to play.
So this Saturday night a bunch of us gathered, in of all places, Moorpark Park in Studio City, Ca around 5pm when the heat had finally subsided.
My croquet course set up was definitely wonky but nobody cared. I was surprised at how many good players we had! Craig finished first with Jose coming in second and yours truly taking last place (sorry mom… it won’t happen again!).
Everybody brought lots of yummy picnic food…
Michael was the grillmaster and Larry, our mascot, did a very good job of not begging for anything!

You can’t not have deviled eggs!!! but next time Leslie don’t forget the Paprika!!!

How is it possible to be so chic when playing croquet???? See below!

Of course a big part of this event is just relaxing under the trees as Mr. Botev exemplified..
But not before he dialed up some perfect Woody Allen-ish music courtesy of Pandora.com

Note to self – next time don’t forget the flashlight! (and I’m pretty sure there will be a flashlight, that was fun!)
